I was almost grinning from delight as I shoved open the back door. If I hit him, hey, all was fair in the war we were fighting of who could piss each other off the best. It didn’t. He was leaning against the wall, the back of his head resting on the brick, and he looked over to smirk at me. “I want to see your room.” I thrust my hand out. “I’ll take those notes.” That smirk just widened. He patted his bag and pushed off from the wall. “They’re in my email. I need to get on a computer.” He patted my arm and moved past me, heading inside. “I can use yours.” “Hey!” I followed him in. He was looking up the stairs. “Sabrina said you were on the fourth floor. You saw my place. I want to see yours. It’s only fair.” He wasn’t waiting for my go-ahead. He was already up and rounding second floor to third. He’d be at my floor before I could get there. “Stop! I am not okay with this.” He was at the third-floor door. He glanced down with that same goddamn smirk. “Better tell me which room or I’m going to hang out in the hallway.” “Why are you always smirking? Is it permanently attached to your face?” “What room, Clarke?” He was at my hallway door. Fucking hell. I gritted my teeth. “Wait. Just wait. My door automatically locks.” He’d opened the door but let it shut. Waiting as I covered the last set of stairs, I refused to let him see me panting. I stood there, purposely holding my breath until he narrowed his eyes and cocked his head to the side. “Breathe, Clarke. You’re going to pass out.” I almost burped out the small pocket of air I’d been holding. “I hate you so much.” “Yeah, yeah.” He waved that off. “We get it. Eternal damnation in hell, the whole shebang. Whatever.” He nodded to the door. “Stop stalling. I want to see your room.” I was picturing pitchforks and fire. Maybe that was the burning smell he mentioned. It was hell, and all the fire in there. I yanked the door, glaring as I did. “Was this Sabrina’s idea?” “Nope. All mine.” He was right behind me. I could feel his breathing. “She refused to tell me your room number, said I had to call.” My eyes widened at the thought of him coming up by himself, strolling down the hallway, and then knocking on my door. Good Lordy gracious. Too many would’ve seen him at my door. I would’ve been the talk of the dorm. I shuddered, unlocked, and entered my room.

DD's Review:

Honestly, I haven't found a book I haven't liked of Tijan's and this one is definitely in the same category. This story was different then her usual work, it was steamier, it had that drama that we all love and crave in her stories. I just kind of fell in love with these Characters so easily. Sabrina, has her rules and she's religious with them. Who knew a Shay would be the one to knock her rules of their axis. I truly hope Tijan writes a couple of spin offs from this book!

HOLY WOW!! CeCe and Gabe could not be more opposites if they tried, he is a sexy firefighter and as simple and unmaterialistic as they come and she owns a high end boutique and loves her purses. But you know what they say, never judge a book by it's cover and that goes for CeCe too. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I even cursed some, but through it all I was enthralled in the pure magic that was this book. I loved watching their relationship evolve and the banter between them was addicting, I never wanted the book to end. And did I mention how incredibly hot and sexy this book was? No? Well HOLY HOTNESS, I could not get enough of these two. I loved every second of this book!

With my thumb and middle finger, I kept zooming in and out, examining the details of the ink across his chest and on his arms. There was really nothing sexier than a guy with perfect arms and a full sleeve tattoo. Even though his lips seemed fuller than I recalled, they still curved into a familiar grin that oozed confidence. The eyes and that smile were the only traces of the boy I remembered. I wished I could’ve leapt through the screen to smell him, touch him. “Hi, Landon,” I whispered, for a brief moment talking to the boy inside, not the man in front of me. This Landon was the polar opposite of the Ivy League yuppie image previously in my head. The only thing the man pictured might have majored in was badassery. He looked like a rockstar, a rule breaker, displaying a sense of arousing danger—someone who must have had women from all walks of life drooling over him for the sheer fact that either they couldn’t have him or shouldn’t have him. It suddenly became clear why, as he’d alluded to, a woman might have been begging him for sex. That made me wonder if he had any secret tattoos in spots I wasn’t allowed to see. God. A fire was burning inside of me, and I knew it was my crush exploding into a full-blown obsession. A self-conscious feeling came over me. If I was scared to show him a picture of myself before, now I was really hesitant. The message that went along with the photo simply read: Now show me you.
