Excerpt Reveal: Tall, Dark, and Charming by Erika Wilde

TallDarkCharming-SBPRBANNER-EREWTallDarkCharmingCover5x8_HIGH

Tall, Dark and Charming, an all-new sexy standalone from Erika Wilde, is coming June 5th!

Aiden Stone loves life as a bachelor and has no intentions of settling down anytime soon. He has a great job and a career he enjoys, and women adore him . . . except for Daisy Parker, who doesn't seem fazed by his flirtatious attempts or the sexy smile that normally has panties dropping to the floor. She's a tougher nut to crack, but the fact that she seems immune to his charm only fascinates him more . . . until one hot unexpected encounter with her blows his mind and gives them both more than just a night of pleasure. Because Daisy is now his baby momma, and his life is about to change in ways he'd never anticipated.

Excerpt

"Enough about work. I say we move on to other pleasures," Aiden said with a flirtatious gleam in his eyes. "What'll you have to drink? Your normal white wine spritzer?" Yep, she really was totally predictable and boring, because that was always her go-to drink during their monthly mixers with clients, or when some of their co-workers went out after work for a cocktail, and he'd obviously noticed her light-weight choice. Her limit was always one, and she was usually the first to leave those social gatherings, citing an early morning. Predictable and boring had been her life for the past three years because it was a safe place to be, but tonight, being in a different city and away from her normal routine and weighty expectations prompted her to be daring. "I think I'll have a Moscow mule," she said, stepping completely outside of her square little box. He arched a dark brow, the amusement in his eyes warm and playful. "Wow, walking on the wild side tonight, huh?" She laughed, the sound huskier than she'd intended. "Sure. Why not." "Why not, indeed," he murmured, looking at her as if he was seeing someone other than the reserved woman he'd worked with the past three years before motioning to the bartender. "What can I get you two?" the older gentleman asked as he set a small square napkin on the counter in front of each of them. "Two Moscow mules," Aiden said, surprising Daisy by ordering one for himself. "You like them, too?" she asked once the bartender left them to make their drinks. With a mixture of vodka, spicy ginger beer, and lime juice, it was usually an acquired taste. "Never had one," he admitted, flashing her a dimpled grin that caused a warm tickle in her belly. "But if you're taking a walk on the wild side tonight, then I'm joining you." She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I'm such a rebel," she scoffed, then shook her head at that absurd notion and laughed. "Okay, let's be real. I'm so not rebellious." "I know, which is why I'm not letting you indulge alone," he teased, leaning his forearm on the countertop. "You know what they say . . . friends don't let friends get drunk alone." Her lips quirked at his explanation. "Umm, can't say I've ever heard that quote before." "Just go with it, Daisy," he encouraged, swiveling his chair so that his body was turned toward her, though she remained sitting straight because if she did rotate her seat his way, his legs would end up bracketing hers. "Besides, I don't want to be the responsible sober one if you do something crazy, like dance on one of the tabletops. I want to watch and cheer you on." Her cheeks warmed at the notion of doing something so impulsive, but mostly at the thought of Aiden encouraging her brazen behavior and having his eyes on her while she shimmied her body and tempted him to end her three year dry spell. Yeah, as if that would ever happen. Judging by the beautiful, sophisticated, svelte women she'd seen him with, she was so not his type. "So, truthfully?" he said, his voice effectively snapping her out of her little fantasy, even though the residual scrape of her tight, hard nipples against the cups of her bra was distracting as hell. "I've always been curious to know what a Moscow mule tasted like." "You didn't have to order one," she told him with a laugh. "I would have given you a sip of mine." "Mmm . . . I don't think I should be putting my lips on your lips," he said, his voice dipping sensually low as his gaze skimmed across her mouth before lifting to her eyes again. "Well, not technically, anyways, but if you shared, I might not be able to stop at one taste, and that wouldn't be fair to you." Daisy's pulse stuttered, then resumed at a faster, more arousing pace. Oh. My. God. Were they even talking about the Moscow mule anymore? She was used to the occasional teasing exchange with Aiden at work where there were a dozen other people around so it never felt personal. But now that it was just the two of them, without anyone else around to buffer his comments and the situation, she wasn't sure what to make of this more intimate dialogue . . . except to admit that it was making her very aware of how much she missed this kind of connection with a man . . . especially the physical one. And how much she liked Aiden's attention. The bartender delivered their drinks, and both she and Aiden picked up their highball glasses and took a sip of the Moscow mule. The taste of vodka was strong, but the spicy ginger beer and lime gave it an interesting twist of flavor. It took Aiden three sips, taken with a furrowed, uncertain brow, before he finally, slowly, nodded his head in approval. "It's definitely different, but I like the kick of spice." He shifted his gaze from the drink, to her. "Who knew beneath those conservative suits you wear that you were a woman who liked a little spice in her life." His eyes twinkled mischievously, though there was something more heated simmering beneath the amber hue as he maintained eye contact with her. As if he was testing just how far she'd allow this arousing banter between them to go. If she'd play it off like she normally did, or if she'd dare to take a walk on the wild side, as he'd suggested earlier. The thought was appealing, especially in a city and environment where no one knew them. Deciding to just go with the flow of flirty conversation and enjoy the evening away from work, obligations, and responsibilities, she took another swallow of her drink and smiled at him. "That's because you've never seen me out of my business attire." TallDarkCharming-PreOrder

Excerpt:
In the dark, during the fundraising video, she leaned into me, taking my hand. “What’s going on?” “Nothing.” “Caden.” My name was more than a statement. It was a comment on how well she knew the animal, and how well she loved it. If eyes could listen, hers did, gazing at me in the darkness. I couldn’t lie to her for much longer. The entire invite list was watching the video. The bar was empty. The hallway lights were dimmed. The kitchen staff moved constantly and quietly to set up the buffet. I laced my fingers in hers. She had a gold band we’d gotten out of expediency. No big sparkling rock. No sign I’d ever courted her properly before marrying her. My father always said a man didn’t skip steps if he wanted to do something once. I slid my cheek to hers and whispered in her ear, “I want to destroy you.” Her hand tightened in mine so tightly I could feel our bones. Her glands must have fired, because the apples and the perfume melded and became something so uniquely her my balls ached—but not for simple release. For something more. An agreement of ownership. Waiting wasn’t an option. Pulling her by the hand, I headed for the hallway. “Caden,” she said when we were away from the event, “slow down.” I didn’t. I couldn’t. I pulled her down the carpeted steps to the lower level, stepping over a velvet rope at the bottom. The lights were out in the hall. Three doors led to three empty event rooms. “What’s with you lately?” she asked. “Are you saying no?” “I’m asking a question.” I backed into one of the rooms and pulled her in. It was dark but for light coming from under the doorways on each side. I walked in deeper, eyes adjusting quickly enough to avoid the tables and stacks of chairs on wheeled dollies. “So am I.” I faced her. “Are you saying no?” “What are you hoping I’ll say yes to?” “I’m going to pull that dress up until I can get to these hard nipples.” I pinched them through the dress and she gasped. “Then I’ll bend you over one of these tables and fuck you so hard walking’s going to hurt. Are you saying no?” “I’m not. But I want to know what’s going on with you.” “Pull your dress up before I shred it.”
About the Author
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine. _21A6258_pp-fb.jpg

Blog Tour: Knotted by Pam Godwin

It's LIVE!

KNOTTED, Book #1 in the TRAILS OF SIN series

Genre: Dark Cowboy Romance Series: HEAs with no cliffhangers. Each book is a different couple. Must be read in order.
I try to forget her. It’s impossible.
Growing up together, Conor and I shared all our firsts. First love, first kiss, first… Not all our firsts.
We were sixteen the night she was violently assaulted while I helplessly watched. I’ll never forget the sounds of her suffering. Or my inconsolable agony when she left Oklahoma.
Years later, she returns to honor our teenage pact. Except the boy she loved is gone, replaced by a ruthless cattle rancher knotted with secrets. She doesn’t know my dark cravings or the trails of sin that lead to her.
I don’t deserve her, but one truth remains. She’s mine.

DD's Book Room Review by Amie
I give this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars.
The only reason for the 4 stars is for how the beginning of the book is. It seemed a little far fetched for the kids at that age be dealing with what they were dealing with. Once the characters became older and the story got going it was an amazing read! I loved the chemistry between the two characters. Once I was able to get past the beginning I couldn't put the book down. I am eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

BLURB
I would have been stupid to turn the opportunity down.
A feature film starring the hottest man in Hollywood—and me.
It wasn’t just the chance of a lifetime; it was the first time I’d landed the leading role.
But Tanner James isn’t just any actor, aka “Sex God”.
He’s the man who took my virginity then shattered my dreams.
If I can use this part to launch a new career, it will be worth it.
If I can stop myself from falling back into bed with Tanner, it will be a miracle.
And my heart?
There’s no way he’s taking that from me.
He’s always been the one who owned it.

EXCERPT
“Today meant nothing,” I say. “Our past is in the past.”
“Totally in the past. But when I’m working with you…”
I feel myself inch closer to him. “... what?”
“Sometimes I can’t tell where we leave off and our characters begin.” Is he sitting nearer than he was a few seconds ago?
“I know. I feel the same way,” I confess, and then I’m definitely moving closer to him. Definitely staring at his lips. We’re like two magnets. Simply telling them to stay apart never stops the pull.
“But that’s the job, right?” he says, and his eyes are on my mouth now.
I nod. “We have to put everything aside and just focus on the work.”
“Right. Yes. I can do that.” He’s so close we’re almost touching. Then he reaches his hand out and places it on my thigh. I feel a chill run up my body, and I close my eyes. The warm, heavy feeling of his hand is so familiar and so exciting at once. “Can you do that?”
The honest answer is that I don’t know. I open my eyes and find him staring at me. I get lost in his stare. For a moment, we hesitate.
Then the next thing I know, my lips are pressed against his and his tongue is finding its way inside my mouth. I don’t know who started it, but neither of us can deny this is what we both want in this moment. Have wanted since this afternoon. Maybe since we first saw each other outside craft services two weeks ago.
He cradles my face between his hands and shifts me closer, as though afraid I’ll break our connection.
But I’m not going anywhere. I want more. I swing my leg over to straddle him, so I can press my hips into his pelvis. I groan when I feel how hard he is, groan with the need that’s already built up unbearably between my thighs. I rock back and forth, desperate. Only a few scraps of cloth stand between us, but they’re enough to frustrate me.
He stands up, me still astride him, then he tosses me onto my back in front of him. He kneels on the ground, and I’m lying on the couch of my trailer looking up at the ceiling, and a part of me is wondering how the hell this happened again. But a much louder part of me doesn’t want it to end before we’re both naked and screaming out all our unresolved anger in orgasm.
Before I have time to register what’s happening, I feel Tanner’s fingers creep up my thighs and under my panties. He plays with me, teasing before he plunges two fingers inside my body.
I gasp in surprise and delight.
This. This is what I need.
I let my thighs fall farther apart, giving him all the access he wants. Tanner dances and swirls his fingers around, first deep inside me and then up to brush my clit. I grip the couch, nearly paralyzed in anticipation. My legs begin to shake, and I can’t remember my own name anymore. All I can think about is how incredible this feels, and how, improbably, he’s become even more talented at touching a woman over the years. Holy shit.
I’ve never been fingered like this before.
He leaves one hand to work every centimeter of my clit then takes the other and dances it up and down the inside of my thighs until I’m crying out. His free hand covers my mouth, but that doesn’t help. It isn’t until he stills that I quiet, although my hips are still rocking greedily, trying to get what I want from his fingers.
“Sshh,” he says, “Someone might still be around.”
“I don’t care,” I moan, and, in the moment, I swear I don’t. Let everyone hear how glorious this is. Tanner grins as he presses his fingers back inside me, bending them and twisting them, showing off more moves that get my body pulsing and my pussy soaking wet.
I’m going to come. I’m so close. “Fuck, Tanner, yes…”
“Yes,” he growls, and that’s all it takes to send me flying over the edge into ecstasy.
... just as someone knocks on the trailer door.

DD's Book Review by Amie

I give the book ★★★★ stars.

The book started out a little slow for me. The chemistry between Jenna and Tanner was off the charts. There is no denying they were meant for each other. You have an actor(Tanner) who has made it big and is living the life. Then you have a model(Jenna) who has wanted to act more than model. Life throws a curve ball at them and WHAM! Sparks, heat and chemistry! Definitely a must read.
