From NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson comes the next seductive, unforgettable Bleeding Stars Stand-Alone Novel…
Zachary Kennedy has never been known as a fighter, but he’ll never regret fighting for her…
I’m Zee Kennedy.
Quiet. Reserved. Predictable.
When my brother died, everyone thought I was just the good guy who stepped up to take his place in the band.
No one knew what I was hiding. The one thing I’ve been fighting for.
For seven years, I’ve never lost focus.
Not until one chance encounter with Alexis Kensington.
Now she’s become my greatest temptation.
I knew better than to touch her, but now that I’ve had a taste, I can’t get enough.
Her kiss becomes my air. Her body my salvation.
She needed a savior and somehow she became mine.
Taking her was a betrayal. But keeping her means risking everything.
One look at Alexis Kensington, and I know she’s worth the fight.
Will my past continue to keep me down or will I finally find the strength to pull myself up and Stand…

My hands lingered on the keys, and she reached out and set her hand on top of mine.
Warmth and light.
It invaded my senses. Clouded my judgment.
My hand flipped over, palm up, and she threaded her fingers through mine. Her head angled, so soft, this girl so fucking good.
“What is it you want, Zee? What is it you can’t have?”
You.
Flames leapt into that space between us. Alive and dancing and inciting.
A siren’s call.
My tongue darted out to wet my lips, and I was shaking as I lifted our entwined hands. I brushed my knuckles along the silky flesh of her cheek. I swore I saw the trail of pink it left behind, the simplest touch affecting this girl.
She released a shuddered breath. It mingled with mine.
Our mouths were close—too close—and our noses just touched as we hovered in that space.
“I want things that will only ruin me, Alexis. But you…you make me want to wish for them anyway. Make me believe there’s a chance that maybe they could belong to me.”
Tension tethered us, this rigid band that had me rocking in indecision, every second getting closer and closer as I fought the foolish ideas that tried to take root.
Giving in would only destroy me. But none of that seemed to matter when I leaned in and brushed my lips at the corner of her mouth.
Her fucking delicious mouth.
Because fuck. I just needed a taste. Something to take with me. Something to tuck away, even when doing it felt like some kind of brutal tease.
Alexis gasped at the contact. I edged back the barest fraction, and she was panting these tiny breaths.
Breaths I was breathing.
Her eyes locked on mine. Hungry and pleading. Brimming with belief and hope.
I ran my thumb over the corner of her mouth where my lips had just been. “You are so beautiful. I’ve never met a girl quite like you.”
Something so genuine took hold of her expression. “I hardly know you…and somehow you make me feel like I am. Like when you look at me…you see the person I always hoped I’d become.”
Everything stilled at her words.
At her confession.
Because that’s what I wanted.
For this amazing girl to know the way I saw her. That in her space, I felt something different from all the bullshit I’d dealt with for all my life.
I felt like someone different. Someone better. Like the person I’d once hoped I’d become.
I clutched her stunning face in my hands, searching for resolve. For that dedication that right then somehow felt out of reach.
“Zee,” she whispered.
That was all it took for that band to snap.
My hands drove into her hair. And my mouth? My mouth was devouring hers.
Frenzied in its demand. Pleading the same way as her eyes had been pleading with me. Saying all the things I couldn’t ever say.
Our tongues tangled, and my spirit coiled. Heat spread in a flashfire of need. Lust rose in the knitted air, like this intangible greed we both were grappling for, searching for the fastest way to get to the peak.
Our hands searched and clawed and explored. We were a mess of limbs as we struggled to get closer to each other where we sat side by side on the bench.
“Zachary…Zachary,” she whimpered, grasping me by the back of the head. She crawled forward so she could straddle me.
Motherfuck.
My hands sank into her hips, and she edged up and pressed those gorgeous tits against the wild beat thundering in my chest. A groan rumbled out from somewhere in my soul.
She felt so perfect. So good.
I wanted to touch her. Explore her. Claim her.
My dick raged against its confines, all that delicious heat at the apex of her thighs grinding against my jean-covered cock.
It’d been too long. Too damned long. I was goin’ out of my mind.

Book Blurb:

His Woman. His Family. His Company.

When the going gets tough, the tough get Alpha.

Silicon Valley billionaire CEO Gabriel Betts has finally found the happiness he’s been searching for—in gorgeous, brilliant fellow billionaire Lauren Taylor, the so-called reigning queen of the biotech industry. But when Chinese healthcare mogul Li Na Zhao kidnaps Lauren’s sister in a high-stakes game of corporate espionage, the world they’ve worked so hard to protect comes crashing down. Li Na agrees to trade Hannah for Lauren’s Paragon Laboratories and her help—onsite and in person. In an attempt to keep Lauren safe, Gabe calls in his security-industry professional brothers to help get Hannah back. But when the rescue effort stumbles, Gabe must pick up the pieces to protect the woman he loves…before she makes the ultimate sacrifice.

EXCERPT: This is a scene where Lauren and Gabe are having an issue in the bedroom, and she shares a story from her AP-Chemistry past.
He tightened his embrace and kissed the top of my head. “Shh. You don’t have anything to apologize for.”
I forced myself to calm down. Everything Gabe did, he did for me—a fact I was well aware of. No other man could handle me, or would’ve had the patience to wait to lure me out of my ivory laboratory, divest me of my virginity, and handle every other crazy thing that’d come our way since.
“I love you,” I said.
“I know.” He kissed my nose. “And I love you too.”
“Even though you have…blue balls?” I laughed, trying to lighten the mood, although my face reddened at the topic.
Gabe looked at me, startled. “Lauren Taylor, where on earth did you hear such an expression?”
“High school AP chemistry,” I admitted, and laughed again. “We were doing a section on cryogenics. The boys in my class passed me a note about it—they used to call me ‘The Ice Queen.’ They said I was the freezer of all balls. They wouldn’t stop laughing.”
Gabe grimaced. “Do you remember who they were? They might need a visit from your big, bad, vendetta-loving boyfriend.”
“Oh, I already took care of them. I got an A-plus in that class, beat them all out for the last remaining spot in the National Honor Society, and I also compromised the integrity of their test tubes so they shattered during our next experiment.” I smiled at the memory. “After I started Paragon, one of them had the nerve to try to add me to his LinkedIn. I blocked him, of course.”
“Nice.” Gabe sounded impressed.
“It seemed appropriate. The Ice Queen doesn’t let shit like that go.”
Gabe pulled me against him. “That’s why she’s the boss.”
I clung to him. I never thought I’d meet a man who understood me, let alone embrace me for who I was. “Thank you for…loving me. Me, the giver of blue balls.”
He patted my hand. “Me and my balls love you—a lot. We’re good, babe. But we should try to get some rest while we can—are you okay?”
I relaxed against his chest. “I’m okay.” And for that brief moment in his arms, I actually meant it.

Full Blurb

I warned her I wasn't the man for her.
Now she'll learn what happens when you tempt an animal.

I left my past behind me.
I ran.
I didn’t slow down and I didn’t look back.
I just couldn’t outrun the memories—or the nightmares.
I came to North Carolina to die.
Alone.
I want to be left alone.
Which would have been fine, if she wasn’t here.
Hayden Graham claims to want the same thing I do—to be left alone.
But, she’s a thorn in my side.
The woman stumbles into one mess after another.
This time the mess she’s in puts her life and her unborn child in danger.
I’m barely existing—rotting from the inside out.
She’s a woman in distress, waiting for a Prince to save her.
I’m no Prince. I’m just a wounded animal.
A Beast.
She tastes like Heaven. She only adds to my Hell.
She makes me remember things I don’t want to remember.
Want things that I can’t have.
Hayden might just be the one to finish destroying me.

EXCERPT
Michael doesn’t have that problem. He reaches up and pushes my bra out of the way. Freeing only one of my breasts, the other remaining in the twisted fabric. Cool air hits my nipple, and I moan as a second later his mouth captures it, greedily sucking it into his mouth. He keeps his mouth there, sucking and pressing the nipple to the roof of his mouth, then teasing it with his tongue. At the same time his hand comes back down. He moves to my hips where he pulls me in closer and grinds me against his hard erection.
Sometime last night he changed from his jeans into cotton jogging pants. I liked them. I appreciated them. They hung low on his hips and he totally rocked them. He was mouthwatering and very warm when he snuggled against me. Right now, I appreciate them for a completely different reason. They’re soft and stretchy over the rigid outline of his hard cock, allowing it to press against my center at just the right angle. It pushes against my pussy hitting my clit when he pulls me down. My body trembles as desire shoots through me.
"Ride me, Hayden. Ride me,” he urges around my breast, before his hands palm my ass and his fingers bite into my skin. “Fuck baby, ride me.”

EXCERPT
“He apologized. Don’t you think you should do the polite thing and at least hear him out?”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know, or you’re just too scared to find out what will happen if you do?”
“Do we have to do this right now?” I sigh, and he tosses his arm around my shoulders and pulls me into his side.
“We’ve been doing this for months now. I’ve seen the way you look at him when you think no one will notice, and I see the way he looks at you, not giving a fuck if everyone sees. Even when he thought you and I were a thing, he still made it perfectly clear to those who were watching that if by some chance he got a shot, you would be his.”
“I really think you are reading way too much into this.”
“Am I?”

Review

An enjoyable addition to the series. Until Sage is a second chance romance for Sage and Kim. Sage is Nico and Sophie's son and I have been waiting to read his story. I love the Until series and the spinoff with the kids. Aurora Rose Reynolds always writes such great Alpha's and instalove that her books are some of my favorites. I enjoyed Sage and Kim's story, it was sweet and sexy with a few surprises. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

He gently guided her so that she faced him straight on and took both of her hands in his. “When I look into your eyes and see myself reflected there, I want to be the man you fell in love with. The man you need me to be. The man you deserve.”
Every word pierced her heart like arrows, as if he were trying to reinsert himself there. What he didn’t understand was that he already lived there. He would always live there, whether she wanted him there or not.
“The past year and a half has been the worst time of my life,” she said. “But I’ve dealt with almost all of it: Joey’s death, Eileen’s death, the shooting, this fucked-up world we live in. I’ve even come to grips with my shitty childhood. I’ve processed it all—except you.” A painful little cry slipped past her lips. “I don’t know how to process you or what you’ve done. I don’t know if I can.”
“I don’t want to be dealt with or processed, Katie.” Agitation fueled his voice. “I want to be forgiven, and I want you to love me again.”
She shook her head. “It’s never been about love, Billy, I told you that. In spite of everything, I’ve never stopped loving you. I just don’t know if I can forgive you. Or trust you.”
Karen Cimms was born and raised in New Jersey and still thinks of the Garden State as home. She is a journalist and lifestyle editor of a daily newspaper. She and her husband live in Northeast Pennsylvania. They have four children.
